Managing Members & Roles
Understand Stagebound's role-based permissions and manage your team.
Every member of your organisation has a role that determines what they can see and do. There are four roles in Stagebound, from full control down to read-only access.
Roles
Owner
The Owner has complete control over the organisation. They can manage billing, transfer ownership to another member, and permanently delete the org. There is only ever one Owner per organisation. The Owner role cannot be assigned through the normal role dropdown — it transfers through a separate process (see Transferring Ownership).
Admin
Admins can do almost everything an Owner can, with a few exceptions. They can invite and remove members, change roles (except promoting someone to Owner), and update org settings like the name and logo. They cannot access billing or initiate an ownership transfer.
Editor
Editors are your day-to-day casting team members. They can create and manage productions, move performers through the pipeline, add notes, and update performer information. They cannot manage members, change roles, or access org settings.
Viewer
Viewers have read-only access to the organisation. They can see productions, performers, and the pipeline, but they cannot make any changes. This role is well suited to producers, directors, or other stakeholders who need visibility into the casting process without needing to take action.
Changing a member's role
- Go to Settings > Members.
- Find the member whose role you want to change.
- Click the role dropdown next to their name.
- Select the new role.
The change takes effect immediately. The member will see updated permissions the next time they interact with the workspace.
Only Owners and Admins can change roles. An Admin can change any role except Owner — only the Owner can transfer ownership of the org.
Removing a member
To remove someone from the organisation, go to Settings > Members, find their name, and select Remove from org. They will lose access immediately. Any notes or actions they took within the org remain in place.
