Key Concepts
The building blocks of Stagebound: organisations, productions, roles, talent, self-tapes, the pipeline, and notes.
Stagebound is built around a small set of concepts that fit together cleanly. Understanding them makes the rest of the product click into place.
Organisations
An organisation is your workspace in Stagebound. It represents your casting company, production house, or team. Everything in Stagebound — productions, performer data, team members — lives inside your organisation.
You create one organisation when you sign up, and you land on its productions list. If you work across multiple companies, each one has its own organisation. Team members are invited in and can only access the data that belongs to it.
Team roles
Every member of an organisation has a role that controls what they can see and do. These are separate from the casting roles on a production.

| Viewer | Read-only access. Can see productions, the pipeline, and performer profiles, and cannot make changes. |
When you invite someone, you choose their role. You can change a member's role at any time from Settings → Team.
Productions
A production is one casting project — for example, "West Side Story 2026" or "Spring Showcase". Each production has its own roles, its own pipeline, its own performers, and its own notes.
The productions list is the organisation home. You can run as many productions as you need, and the team can work across them at the same time. Data from one show stays inside that production.
Opening a production shows three sections: Pipeline, Roles, and Notes.
Casting roles
A casting role is a part you are trying to fill: a name, a type (lead, supporting, ensemble, understudy, or swing), and how many slots you need. You add them under Roles on the production, then tag performers on the pipeline with the parts they are being considered for.
Pipeline
The pipeline is the board for a production. Each column is a stage, and performers move from left to right as decisions are made.
You pick the stages when you create the production. A typical board looks like this:

- Cast
Performers appear on the first stage when someone on the team adds them, invites them, or imports them from a CSV. From there the team moves them forward, or cuts them, as decisions are made. Everyone sees the same board.
Talent
Talent is the organisation's roster of performers, across every production. You add people on a production's pipeline — one at a time, or from a CSV — and invite them to claim a Stagebound profile. Talent in the sidebar is where you see that roster, including invitations that are still open.
Self-tapes
A self-tape is a video a performer records or uploads because your team asked for it. From a performer on the pipeline, Request self-tape sends a brief: what to submit, optional instructions, and an optional deadline.
The performer sees the request on their Home and submits from there. Your team watches incoming tapes under Self-tapes, grouped by production, then records the decision by moving that person on the pipeline.
Notes
Notes are how the team remembers why a decision was made. Production Notes collects team notes on the performers in that show. Opening a performer on the pipeline also has a Notes tab, including private notes that only you can see.
Billing
Owners and Admins manage the plan, seats, and invoices under Settings → Billing. The casting loop above does not require you to open billing first.
